We all love rocking our Rims all year round but reality of it is is that many of us live in climates where part of the year it snows, snow means salt on roads and salt means the worst thing possible for you and your rims.
This guide is set to educate on what exactly happens to chrome when salt sits on it and how you can rock your rims in the winter and protect them from the elements.
(This is not a fool proof method only a way to try and lessen the effects.)
The process:
When salt sits on your rims in forces its way into tiny holes and expands known as pitting. This can severely damage your chrome and can make way for rust to set in

What to do:
There are several simple but easy maintainance things you can do to prevent salt damage to your rims and other chrome accessories on your vehicles.
First always spray off your car everytime after driving, this is a 5 minute thing you can do to prevent salt damage. By rinsing off the salt it doesnt have a chance to set in.
There are a number of different products you can apply to your rims to protect them and create a barrier to the salt.
You can simply apply wax, or chrome polish followed by synthetic wax, or a wheel sealant, or a teflon based wheel care product. Reapply these products a couple times a month and continue to wash off the rims after every drive to ensure the salt cannot sit on the wheel.
You should be good to go.
Still worried?
You could always rock your stocks or there is always stainless steel rims or forged aluminum- theyve been said to never rust!
Happy Winter!
